Brain Things and a Soapbox

If you haven’t noticed there are some new additions to the Side Bar. At the bottom you can play hangman or look up a word. You can learn something new or play a word match game. Have fun!

Freedom is not a commodity, liability or treasure. Freedom is a concept. The unfortunate thing about concepts is people define their meaning by their own experiences, environments and abilities. Therefore, Freedom does not have any other definition than the one who believes in its purpose. Freedom is defined by the people who believe in freedom and the rights there attained. People are freedom because our minds create the idea and our bodies react according to our beliefs. People fight wars for freedom because war is brought to their doorstep. One side sees their freedoms taken away so they fight to get them back and the people holding their freedoms believe those freedoms to be their own and therefore will not give them up without a fight. Thus conflict. No one person will ever feel true freedom. Simply freedom is an idea not an emotion, or state of being. There may be a way to change the way we view our freedoms and the freedoms of others but I am not that smart or powerful to bring something like that about. So, here's my proposal, Why not stop fighting for a concept and start fighting for life, integrity, dignity and above all our sacred honor. If one day we can all hold the value of the human race above the power of money, oil, status, religion, land, and politics, then on that day we can rejoice in our freedom to live and love and prosper. Jefferson wrote a great story once that shaped the world forever, more than a story really; it was an eloquent complaint to ask a corrupt old king to please let my people go. Wars have been fought since to preserve the idea of our people and their people, yet we all breathe the same breath everyday and work under the same sunshine. We, as a global population, are one people and I must beg to everyone that has ever felt compassion at any point in your life to please let our people go. Free yourself from the idea of self. You are not one person, you are your wives and husbands and children. You are daughters and sons, brothers and friends, faces in a crowd and confidants. We are the people of the world and we all must understand that we belong together. No matter what God drives your heart or what passion drives your mind, we are one people and we must unite and free ourselves from hate and segregation.

Just words, to bring an empire to its knees and a new country to its feet.

Still just words, description of lost philosophy in a pool of political gain, JUST! WORDS! Words have definition and definitions have meaning.
